Installation & Independent Service Provider Information

1. DC2AC’s Role

DC2AC supplies Products and provides Product Guidance to assist Customers in selecting suitable Products.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, DC2AC does not provide:

  • installation services; 
  • electrical design; 
  • commissioning; 
  • project management; 
  • regulatory approvals; 
  • certification; or 
  • maintenance services. 

The Customer remains responsible for appointing a suitably qualified and competent installation professional.

2. Independent Service Providers

DC2AC may introduce Customers to independent installers, electricians or other service providers for convenience.

These Independent Service Providers:

  • operate as independent businesses; 
  • are not employees, agents or representatives of DC2AC; 
  • contract directly with the Customer; 
  • invoice the Customer directly; and 
  • remain solely responsible for their own advice, workmanship, commissioning, safety and regulatory compliance. 

DC2AC is not a party to any installation contract or commercial dispute between the Customer and an Independent Service Provider.

3. Installation Quotations

Any installation pricing provided by DC2AC is indicative only and is supplied solely to assist Customers with budgeting.

Unless installation is expressly included within a DC2AC Order Confirmation:

  • installation quotations are issued by the Independent Service Provider; 
  • the installer may revise its quotation following a site survey or discovery of previously undisclosed site conditions; 
  • the Customer is responsible for paying the installer directly; and 
  • any site survey costs are borne by the Customer unless otherwise agreed in writing. 

4. Selecting an Installer

The Customer remain responsible for satisfying themselves that the chosen installer:

  • holds appropriate qualifications and authorisations; 
  • carries suitable insurance; 
  • has experience with the relevant Products; 
  • understands local regulations, grid requirements and utility approval processes where applicable; and 
  • is capable of completing the installation safely and competently.

5. Responsibilities

DC2AC
Responsible for:

  • supplying Products; 
  • providing Product Guidance; 
  • providing Decision Support Tools; 
  • processing warranty claims where applicable.

Customer
Responsible for:

  • providing accurate information; 
  • selecting Products; 
  • appointing an installer; 
  • obtaining property owner approvals where required; 
  • obtaining utility or DNO approvals where applicable; 
  • arranging installation; 
  • ensuring Products are safely stored after delivery; and 
  • operating Products in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Independent Service Provider
Responsible for:

  • site assessment; 
  • confirming Product suitability at the installation site; 
  • installation; 
  • commissioning; 
  • firmware updates and configuration; 
  • testing; 
  • certification where applicable; 
  • regulatory compliance; 
  • customer handover; and 
  • initial fault diagnosis.

6. Product Compatibility

DC2AC's Product Guidance and Decision Support Tools assist Customers in selecting Products based upon the information available at the time.

The installer remains responsible for confirming compatibility with the actual installation before commissioning.

Where site conditions differ materially from the information originally provided, Product Guidance or previous recommendations may no longer be applicable.

7. Support Process

For installed Products, the Customer should normally contact their installer first regarding:

  • installation; 
  • commissioning; 
  • configuration; 
  • firmware; 
  • operation; 
  • maintenance; and 
  • initial fault diagnosis. 

Where the installer has reasonably excluded installation or configuration as the cause of the issue and a Product fault remains suspected, the installer or Customer may contact DC2AC under the applicable Warranty Information.

8. Product Returns

Products should not be returned directly to DC2AC without prior authorisation.

Where a Product is removed by an installer for warranty assessment, the installer remains responsible for ensuring that the Product is safely packaged and transported in accordance with DC2AC's return instructions.
